We aim to give your operators the knowledge, ability and confidence to safely use and care for your electric tow tractor, pedestrian tow tractor vehicle, golf buggy or passenger assistance vehicle in your working environment.

Course Content:

• ​Relevant Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 & PUWER 1998 legislation

• Vehicle battery and charger explanation

• Pre-Drive vehicle checks with vehicle controls, equipment and drive characteristics

• Practice operation of the vehicle and performing manoeuvres in a cordoned off training area

• Identifying and managing hazards in the operational workplace

• Hitching and unhitching trailers or bins (if applicable)

• Theory paper (pass required for certification)

• Work place based practical assessment (pass required for certification)

 

Course Duration:

The duration of the course varies depending on the experience of the delegates who will be attending and the number of operators who will be attending.

Course Requirements:
All the course delegates must be present throughout the course to be put forward for assessment. A safe, cordoned area is required for the practical element of the course and a class/meeting room is required for the theory element of the course. The vehicle and any attachments/trailers (if applicable) need to be in good working order.

Certification:

On successful completion of the practical and theory assessments, the delegate will receive an Walpole Training certificate as proof of competency on the vehicle that the training was booked for which will ensure the employer has evidence of training.

Walpole Training certificates are recommended to be renewed every 2-3 years to meet the regular training requirement suggested by the Health and Safety Executive.
