Counterbalance forklift truck training by Walpole Training

COUNTERBALANCE FORKLIFT TRUCKS

(B1, B2):

Operator Training

At Walpole training we aim to give all counterbalance forklift truck operators an opportunity to learn how to safely operate, control and use a forklift truck in your working environment.

We offer training that is varied, friendly and engaging and covers all the essentials of operating a lift truck whilst following the HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L117.  All of our training stipulates a maximum of 3 delegates per course, with 1 instructor and 1 forklift truck within a dedicated training area and an available classroom/meeting room throughout the course.

There are 3 variations of the training for you to choose from:

  • Novice (up to 5 days)

  • Experienced (up to 3 days)

  • Refresher (1 day)

Novice

We all have to start somewhere and this course is aimed at those who have no experience of operating a forklift truck or mechanical handling equipment.

This course gives the operators every opportunity to practice their driving skills, gain confidence and learn the basics of forklift operations with an emphasis on relevant health and safety legislation.

Experienced

This course is for those operators who are experienced users of the counterbalance forklift truck but have never received any formal, certificated training.

The content of the course is the same as a novice but because of their experience it is condensed into 3 days as the operators should not require as much practice time.

Before training commences, we require a declaration from the operator to declare that they are experienced operators who have driven forklifts in the past but with no formal training or certification.

Refresher

They've been there and done it all before.  This course is for those operators who have received UK certificated counterbalance forklift training within the last 3-5 years.

It is the employers responsibility to ensure that every operator receives regular  training and this course will ensure that those responsibilities are met.
